Goodbye cling-film, hello eco-friendly covers!
It’s a WRAP. A Beeswax Frank Wrap, to be precise. Ok, this is something different from what you’d usually expect to find on this site, but I was recently invited to try out these new eco-friendly wraps that replace the need for single-use plastic in the kitchen.
To put it simply, Beeswax Frank Wrap is a biodegradable solution to replace plastic cling film. I don’t know about you, but I always feel super guilty whenever I use cling film. And unfortunately, such are my eating habits and lifestyle that I do often need to cover up leftovers for freshness.
When I was invited to try out the Frank Wrap I wasn’t too sure, as they seemed to be too thick to do the job properly. I received the three-pack, which comes in different sizes, and my first attempt was to use them on a packet of cookies.
Beeswax Frank Wrap – worked with the cookies too!
Usually, I have a problem with biscuits, as they start going soft and stale very fast, even when covered in cling film. And we all know what the alternative is – polishing off the entire packet in a day! Well, I’m happy to report that my ginger cookies lasted over a week and stayed crisp and fresh.
I tried them next on a packet of wraps – again, I typically encounter the same problem, with clingfilm not quite doing the job to keep them fresh. Beeswax Frank Wraps handled the burrito wraps with superb ease, and I happily re-used them 4 days later.
Frank Wraps are now a valued member of my kitchen family. Using them is easy – just use the warmth of your hand and they will automatically cling to your recipient. They are made of beeswax, which means they are easily washable and totally green, and they will last up to one year.
Goodbye cling film!
