Artist Gabriel Buttigieg’s latest collection.
On the last edition of the Sunday Times of Malta I ran a feature about artist Gabriel Buttigieg‘s latest collection, which he is showing in Gdansk, Poland. Buttigieg is one of the pioneers on Malta’s visual arts scene.
The Beach is a 13-strong collection of paintings that will be exhibited at the Academy of Fine Arts.
The project is supported by the Malta Arts Fund, in collaboration with Akademia Sztuk Pięknych w Gdańsku and the Embassy of Malta in Warsaw.
You can read the entire feature on The Times website by clicking https://timesofmalta.com/articles/view/the-danger-in-the-sensuality.737117
Meantime, I am also sharing some of the intense paintings that make part of the collection, but that didn’t make it on The Times.
There’s only one thing left to say. Gabriel had better have some serious plans to show this collection on the Malta culture scene too. Or there will be trouble.
UPDATE: Gabriel Buttigieg The Beach is indeed being shown in Malta, follow the link for details. If you’d like to read more art related features, check out ARTZ ID, a new platform that brings artists together, or check out Ray Piscopo’s online exhibition.
